Superstorm Sandy

Superstorm Sandy
Some are saying this is the perfect storm.
Yet, there are those who will not conform.
Some will play. Some won't get out.
In her wake she has left devastation throughout.
A wall of water is converging on large cities.
She does not care about babies or kitties.
Her wind is enough to lift boats in the air.
Skyscrapers are showing wear and tear.
A construction crane dangles by a thread.
It will fall any moment, allowing the destruction to spread.
The neighborhoods are combed by sharks.
Muddy brown lakes were once luscious green parks.
Inland, her wizardry sparks a blizzard.
Her reach wriggles into the subway, like a lizard.
The electricity is cut off.
The plumbing is shut off.
Eat canned food. Fresh food will spoil.
Need plenty of lighter oil and water to boil.
Days and days go by with no help in sight.
Eventually, aid comes to those who fight.
Sadly, life is taken from far too many.
Have we learned from this superstorm any?
